  • Description Description

For-bid stops coprophagia (pets eating stool). Vegetable protein and sodium glutamate work in the digestive system to give stools a bad taste.

For-bid has been used by thousands of veterinarians in both cats and dogs without adverse reactions and with excellent efficacy.

    Directions

Simply sprinkle For-bid on your dog's food. This will impart a forbidden and unpalatable taste to the feces. For-bid is not an enzyme mixture which alters the normal endogenous digestive process.

    Dosage

    Dogs 3-20 lbs

1/4 packet (1/2 teaspoon) twice per day for 5 days

    Dogs 20-100 lbs

1/2 packet (1 teaspoon) twice per day for 5-6 days

    Cats

1/4 packet (1/2 teaspoon) twice per day for 5 days

    Quick Tips

  • If coprophogia starts again after initial feeding, give 1 gram (just a pinch) per day for 2-3 weeks, or as necessary until unwanted behavior stops.
  • When a dog is eating another dog's stool or from a cat's litter box. we recommend feeding For-bid to both animals as directed above.

We purchased after the vet recommended it for our puppy who kept eating her own poop and after a failed attempt with a different brand. She had no problem with me sprinkling it on her food and also had no problem continuing to eating her poop. The cat also didn’t mind it on her food and the dog still stopped by the cat box a few times. What is with eating poop? She is spoiled with treats, bones, chews and toys. I try to pick up the poop the second it hits the floor and I’m often times too slow. Sigh... at least Healthy Pets had the best pricing out of all other places I checked online and provided excellent customer service. I hope your dog doesn’t inhale poop like mine does.

We tried the first 5-day treatment and it didn't work. So we waited a week then tried another 5-day treatment and it still didn't work.

Our poodle-rescue lived in his cage for the first 5 months of his life. He kept his cage very tidy, including eating his poo. Now that he is free to run and play, the habit continued. For-Bid worked immediately and the problem is solved. Great product!!!

My first order from Amazon was 3 boxes . I just for 4 more boxes . After the holidays I'm going to slow it down and see how we do . A

    • It's not a "magic pill" solution for all dogs, but it can work if you're willing to work too.

I brought home a 10 wk pup and over time noticed this intermittent problem that was becoming more frequent. My vet recommended the product and told me results were mixed, but to keep up with my training in conjunction with the use of it. (Which for me was saying "Yuk, ick!" when the dog was showing signs of eating the stool and a lot of praise when he looked in my direction, and more praise as he turned away from it and came to me). Some people are lucky, in that the product alone is enough to deter the pet from the bad habit. For my situation, I found that it made my dog slow down, sniff, and think about it long enough that it was a helpful aid combined with training. I did 5 days as the product recommended, stopped, noticed the behavior starting to come back so tried another 5 days and the behavior has stopped completely. The dog was too quick for me with the "Yuk, ick"/praise method I was trying alone, but "FOR-BID" gave me what I needed to have success. (It's gratifying to know my dog now finds me more interesting than his own stool...) Understand in some situations, there are going to be some pets at the unfortunate end of the bell curve that perhaps the only solution is to keep the yard picked up and the litter boxes isolated. Praise them & love them anyway - they're all yours! (Just don't let them lick you.) I do recommend giving FOR-BID a try, though. I could tell it helped in my dog's case.

Must have made their poop taste like candy! Didn't stop them one bit. Will try something different.
