  • Description Description

For-bid stops coprophagia (pets eating stool). Vegetable protein and sodium glutamate work in the digestive system to give stools a bad taste.

For-bid has been used by thousands of veterinarians in both cats and dogs without adverse reactions and with excellent efficacy.

    Directions

Simply sprinkle For-bid on your dog's food. This will impart a forbidden and unpalatable taste to the feces. For-bid is not an enzyme mixture which alters the normal endogenous digestive process.

    Dosage

    Dogs 3-20 lbs

1/4 packet (1/2 teaspoon) twice per day for 5 days

    Dogs 20-100 lbs

1/2 packet (1 teaspoon) twice per day for 5-6 days

    Cats

1/4 packet (1/2 teaspoon) twice per day for 5 days

    Quick Tips

  • If coprophogia starts again after initial feeding, give 1 gram (just a pinch) per day for 2-3 weeks, or as necessary until unwanted behavior stops.
  • When a dog is eating another dog's stool or from a cat's litter box. we recommend feeding For-bid to both animals as directed above.

This product was prescribed for my Shih-Tzu puppy. She broke that bad habit and life for her and me is now better.

I have two dachshunds, one is 8 and the other is a 3 month old puppy. They eat different food and the puppy likes his sister's recycled food... yuck. Forbid seemed to be working at first, but now has little effect. I saw little because he doesn't gobble down as much as he did before forbid. I'm going to give it a little longer... I purchased the 12 pack, just to see what happens.

I have two Boston Terrier's... both females. One of which is a poop eater. It's quite discusting. Anywhere we go if there's a "good" tasting/smelling pile around she always finds a way to eat it. Since I am gone 8 hours a day to go to work my dogs have free access to their bathroom and to their poop. I always come home ready to pick up something and there's nothing... until I turn the corner and there's barf from where her stomach got upset from eating it. So, I asked my vet what I should do and he put both of my dogs on For-Bid. It was simple: sprinkle some on their food and it will make them not want to eat their poop anymore. It took a couple of days but after a while the results were great! No more barf messes to clean up, no more horrible breath, ... yes it meant I had to pick up dog poop more often but I was happy to do that. I'm so thankful for For-Bid and will use it anytime the routine starts up again.

    • Did not work for my dog.

Used Forbid as directed. Did not work. I thought perhaps I did not give him enough. Waited two weeks. Purchased Forbid again. This time I increased the dosage. Gave it to him for 9 days. Did nothing!!!! As if I had put nothing on his food!! Perhaps it will work for some puppies. --- not mine. Maybe the worst purchase I have ever made.

I USED FORBID TO PREVENT MY PUPPY FROM EATING HORSE MANURE, IT REALLY DID WORK BUT I HAVE 3 HORSES, BOUGHT 3 PACKAGES OF TWELVE, FED ALL OF IT AT SUGGESTED. IT STOPPED WORKING AFTER A WHILE OF NOT FEEDING IT AS I SUSPECTED IT WOULD. TO CONTINUE TO BUY IN PACKETS FOR HORSES IS TOO COSTLY. I CAN\'T FIND A LARGE CONTAINER BUT PLAN TO CHECK W/ THE VET. THE PUP KEPT TESTING DIFFERENT MANURE PILES TO SEE IF THEY TASTED ANY DIFFERENT AND THEN STOPPED, SHE ONLY LIKES THE FRESH MANURE SO IT WORKED OUT. SHE IS BACK TO EATING IT AS THE BAD TASTE IS GONE NOW. I WILL SURELY TRY TO FIND IN BULK. ALSO, I SAW NO CHANGES IN THE HORSES WHILE THEY WERE ON THIS PRODUCT.

I have this product 2 stars because although it was not harmful to my dogs and did not cause any adverse reactions, it did not work at all in my case. I used it according to packet directions religiously and saw no benefit from this product. I am beginning to think that nothing will stop this problem other than being hypervigilant in picking up waste as soon as it is deposited. If your looking for a magic cure, this is not it

It may have reduced the frequency of my girl's poop eating, but even though I treated both dogs, she still sneaks a "snack" most days.

After a complete box of 12 packets my dog still eats her poop. Don't recommend spending the money.

I have two giant breed dogs, I followed the directions and this actually seemed to make my dogs eat the stools more. I will have to keep looking for something to stop this nasty habit.

This worked very well for stopping our golden retrievers from eating stools. Will reorder as necessary.
